Please fill out the application BEFORE paying dues. You will receive notification from the Membership Director after your application has been reviewed and accepted.

Membership Levels:

  • Business Membership: Available to those having a business related to the tea industry - $110 per calendar year
      • Listing with hot link at www.teabiz.org
      • Use of the logo
      • Reduced rates for events, meetings and conferences
      • Invitation to special events
      • Special corporate advertising opportunities in tea publications
      • Full voting rights (one vote per business)
      • Access to the eGroup at Yahoo
         
  • Individual Membership: Available to those who are in the process of starting a business related to the tea industry - $75 per calendar year
      • Basic listing at www.teabiz.org
      • Reduced rates for events, meetings and conferences
      • Full voting rights
      • Access to the egroup at Yahoo
Dues are assessed to cover:
    • Administrative costs such as postage and printing
    • Speaker fees and expenses
    • Website Fees
     

All Members will:

  • Attend at least one (1) meeting per year
  • Serve and/or promote the consumption of loose-leaf tea
  • Support other member businesses
  • Educate the public on the joys of taking tea
  • Pay dues in a timely fashion
  • Be located in one of the following states: AL, FL, GA, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA

Requirements for store-front operations:

  • Hygiene and Decor: Beyond pristine cleanliness, someone visiting your establishment will be looking for stains on linens, chips/cracks on china, dust on decorations or merchandise and generally anything that may be distasteful to a paying customer.
  • Staff Attitude and Service: Staff should be friendly, well-presented and
    reasonably knowledgeable about the variety of teas offered. Service should be efficient and attentive.
  • Variety of Tea: Teas should be listed on a menu. We require a majority of loose-leaf tea to tea bags and other beverages.
  • Someone visiting your establishment will likely consider the following:
    • Tea Preparation
    • Service
    • Tea Liquor Appearance
    • Tea Temperature
    • Taste

Meetings:

  • 2 business meetings are held each year in January and July to coincide withthe AmericasMart Gift Show in Atlanta, GA.  Meeting dates and times are subject to change. Please check the website for current information.
